About Melissa - PartyPainter Apprentice

Melissa represents the fact that you don't need formal Art training to create a painting you can be proud of. In 1996, after graduating high school, she joined the United States Marine Corps where she spent four years working as an aviation ordnance technician in North Carolina. After her discharge, she returned home to Maine and worked at the Kennebec County Correctional Facility as a corrections officer. This eventually lead to gaining employment as an independant contractor working to improve jail treatment for incarcerated women who had been victims of abuse. Melissa has written two grants during her employment to secure funding for the program. In 2005 she had her daughter, Kaiden which prompted her to open a daycare so she could stay home with her children. She also has a 9-year-old son, Devin. She is recently married to her husband, Paul, with whom she has been with for eight years.

Melissa is thrilled to say that she is now an apprentice for PartyPainter. She attended her first party almost a year ago and has been hooked ever since. Melissa continues to train with Shelby and Kellie to develop and grow in her artwork. "I am committed to studying and learning new techniques to enable myself to help others create masterpieces to hang on their walls!"
